Pittsfield has filed applications for construction projects, called Statements of Interest (SOI) by the Mass School Building Authority. The last two, for Pittsfield and Taconic High, were filed in November of 2009. The SOI includes technical information about the target facility and asks the applicant to include information as it pertains to any one (or all) of 8 priority areas.
Pittsfield applied within the following three priority areas:
Prevention of loss of accreditation Replacement,renovation or modernization of school facility systems, such as roofs, windows, boilers, heating and ventilation systems, to increase energy conservation and decrease energy related costs in a school facility Replacement of or addition to obsolete buildings in order to provide for a full range of programs consistent with state and approved local requirements
