Middle School Restructuring Committee

The Pittsfield Public Schools Middle School Restructuring Committee will form small working groups that are tasked with providing well-informed recommendations to the Pittsfield School Committee on a range of critical areas. These areas include but are not limited to determining the appropriate grade span for our middle grades, evaluating and proposing effective educational models, and suggesting necessary policy adaptations to support these recommendations. The committee's goal is to ensure that any changes made are aligned with the district's commitment to providing high-quality education and meeting the diverse needs of all students. Through thorough research, community engagement, and thoughtful deliberation, the committee will present recommendations that enhance our students' academic and developmental outcomes in the middle grades for implementation in the 2025-2026 school year.
